Swindon and Wolverhampton ??? 😆 The person that compiled this list must have a good sense of humour 🤣

That building in Salisbury clip is not a castle, it is Salisbury Cathedral.

I would love to see an American move to Swindon just to see their face when they come across its infamous roundabout

Not sure who wrote this list but they were not English. They must have been paid to compile a list like this.

talking of castles . i have lived by one for 52 years . i understand that most americans would be blown away seeing a castle for the first time yet us brits see it as just another building . we are so used to it we rarely think about it

I tried to explain to an American friend that my village church is 600yrs old, and that the village was originally a viking settlement. None of which made it unusual. She couldn't get her head around it.

Top 10 cities to live in in the UK? Very hard to say, depends on your criteria, I suppose. Myself, I like our smaller cities like Edinburgh, Bristol, York, Exeter, Hereford, Lincoln, Norwich, Durham, Cambridge and Bath. A lot of the charm of those places is that their surrounding countryside is pretty awesome too. Not to say there are not some really beautiful rural parts of the UK with charming little market towns and villages almost everywhere, in fact. Particular favourites of mine include Devon, Dorset, Pembrokeshire, Cumbria, Argyle, Dumfries and Galloway, Gloucestershire, Norfolk and the Western Isles

Speaking of vampires, Whitby, a coastal town, is where Bram Stoker wrote Dracula. There's a museum there dedicated especially to him. Whitby Abbey is pretty amazing too. There are many other places nicer than some of the places they mentioned here, in the UK. Also more affordable.

This list is absolutely horrendous;

Plymouth - I have several friends who live there, they say anywhere affordable is dodgy as hell and its quite a deprived area
Salisbury - Lovely place to visit, ridiculously expensive to live there, also avoid park benches and people with russian accents.
Glasgow - I havn't been there recently so not sure. Famous for having some of the roughest housing estates in the UK though.
Cambridge - Brother works there, dispite being on ridiculous money he still lives far out due to astronmomical cost of living
Wolverhampton - Not too familiar with the midlands tbh
York - ridiculously expensive for the nice areas, 'affordable' places are dodgy
Aberdeen - The Granite City. Deprived since North Sea oil started to dry up, local Stonehaven has a beauty of a castle though.
Edinburgh - If you can afford a place there you're either a millionaire or its somewhere you don't want to live.
Oxford - Astronomically expensive, well off uncle lives there, his house was a shoebox
Swindon - It's a meme for being a shithole, never been there though, don't know anyone whos had a reason to go there.

Basically, if you're on a moderate salary the best place to live is the North East of England (not biased, honest ;) )

Come to north east England. History that includes Romans, Vikings and Normans. Theatres, museums, galleries, fabulous countryside, stunning coastline and more castles than you can shake a stick at. Plus, we're so much nicer. Lol

Take this list with a massive pinch of salt, Wolverhampton would make the top of the list for the worse place to live.

Also Swindon is ok I’m not far from there but I certainly would not put it at number one. There are so many lovely places which are prettier and safer and have good opportunities.
I wish you all the luck if you really want to come and live here.

Plymouth crime free? I've seen some top class punch ups on the Barbican. A tourist must-see.

I need to agree with the others here - great reaction, but such a strange list!

Right from the beginning of the video there were some outlandish claims! Lol!

The first being, Plymouth is a ‘crime free’ city! I don’t think such a thing exists. While the crime rate may be slightly lower than the national average, it’s still higher than many of the towns in surrounding areas. Having said that, I have friends that moved there from Glasgow a few years ago - and they love it!!

Yes, I live in Glasgow, although not right in the heart of the city, I’m 8 miles north east of the city - it’s only 7 or 8 mins on the train or 15 mins drive though. I’m obviously biased, but I love it! I’ve no idea where he got the costs for buying a house or rent though! Lol!

York is beautiful, but very expensive. His comment that the ‘walls’ of the city still ‘guarantee the safety of life and property’ was wild!

I’m still trying to decide if he’s trolling by putting Wolverhampton and Swindon on the list! Lol!

I live in York. It is very, very nice indeed, rich in historical beauty. I have lived in London, Cambridge, and Oxford. All amazing. York is a lovely place to live. Brilliant for walking. Beautiful walks, happy friendly people, low crime rate. Good shopping, restaurants and bars. Lovely countryside on doorstep. In the beautiful county of North Yorkshire. I think you would love York, Cambridge and Oxford. They are my favourite cities in the UK. God bless mate.

These Average Annual Commuting Costs are a bit crazy. It depends where you live, where you work etc. etc. If you commute by car it's probably 10 miles or less - they must be including capital cost of the car + maintenance + depreciation.

As a Brit I can say some of them towns I would not even want to visit let alone live in, that list is so far for correct its funny.
