What is HTTP?

The web is built on HTTP, in this video we'll take a look at some of the methods servers can use to talk to browsers using HTTP. Specifically we'll focus on GET and POST http verbs (methods). If you're using the web it pays to know about HTTP.

If issuing a POST and a GET request do the exact same thing, then the service is not RESTful. Not all webservices follow REST, so it's okay but it is a very popular and well supported way to communicate over H T T P.

How can logging in after creating an account on a website be a POST request? We are in a way only submitting username and password to log in - we are not changing the state of the server so I believe it should be a GET request. Though if the server decides to store this request of us then it might be categorized as a POST request.
