Jo Nesbø's series is about Harry Hole...no, that's not a typo 😁

Nice review E. This book is on my TBR. Looking forward to reading it. From the description I thought it was a Wendigo.

Oracle is actually called a sequel in the series that started with Hex, but the reason for this is just the fact that one of the characters from Hex (Robert Grim) is making a return. So you can read them as standalones as well, though it does add a layer to the story of Oracle if you previously read Hex. Anyway, calling Hex the first book of a series is kind of an afterthought that Thomas probably decided on due to the success of Hex and the parallels drawn between his work and Kings’. I guess he wants to create a Olde Heuvelt Universe in which all of his stories take place, the same way King does.

Being possessed by a mountain sounds super interesting to me. I want to give this book a try eventually.

I read 41 books last year. It would of been 42, but this book was only one I just couldn't finish. I had to force myself to get almost halfway and I had to just tap out. Now it sits on my shelf...mocking me.

Thanks Professor E. for this excellent review. BTW, when will Stephen King be awarded the Nobel prize for literature?

I read a sample on my phone and liked it but I'm waiting til it's $7 at Thriftbooks. (does 'til' bother you? I don't like 'cos' but I don't mind 'cuz') Have you read Charles Brockton Brown? I loved Wieland. I think it's the first example of American Gothic? As to those chapter headings.... I'm not sure that reminding your readers of the best books and stories in the midst of your 2.7 stars novel is a good idea, lol
