Wow, this makes Nero so much more likable than she is in every other Fate work.

Her "love" was a pursuit of validation, to fill the void left by her family's neglect and abuse, and the people were unable to give her what she needed, because they were here people, not her friends or family. She died alone and unloved, because she never managed to maintain an equal relationship.

Until she meets Hakuno, and blank slate with nothing but potential, who lives up to her expectations, and in turn seeks to both give and receive the validation that she and Nero both so desperately crave.
