People said good things about ETH, Jose and Van gaal, prior to the appointments, fans and journalists producing video profiles ''on the next best manager for the club' talking about how good the next manager will be. But all the managers have subsequently failed to live up to their prior reputation and abilities . Tell me fans, why is this different with Amorim ? (also arguable a more riskier move due to his short amount of experience and Portugal not even being in the top 5 European leagues )

Amorim's record is very similar to ETH. 2 leagues, 2 cups managing a huge club in a second tier league.
ETH had 3 leagues, 2 cups and a UCL semi managing a huge club in a second tier league.
So you have to hope Amorim has a much much bigger personality to manage the players, the media, the fans expectations and much more technical and tactical skills to consistently beat good teams in a much much more competitive league, whilst also playing European games midweek when many of MU's next PL opponents will have the midweek off.

Amorim will have to do what Arteta did at Arsenal and clear out the deadwood which takes time because of the contracts and silly wages those players are on. Slot came into a unique situation where the manager decided to leave - that just doesn’t happen really so the team was already there. Amorim will need the time but whether he gets it is a different discussion

I know tactics are important, and surely ten Hag has some good knowledge, but my worry with ten Hag was always his charisma, or lack thereof. I think a manager with charisma has a better chance of turning this club around. Guardiola has great tactics, but if I said those words to City's players they wouldn't have the same gravitas or carry the same weight. Message is important, but it can be undone if not with the right delivery. I hope Amorim has that quality, and if he does, he will far exceed ten Hag with these players.
