Thank you for the unboxing and assessment. I have no interest in crypto but was interested in the hardware as I had the Essential Ph 1.

The price drop this early after release harkens back the Essential experience. It is not a good sign. At least Andy Rubin provided consistent security and operating system updates. I do not believe the Sega/OSOM team have the resources to support the phone.

If BlackBerry and LG could not maintain a presence in the hardware space...how can OSOM?

Nothing wrong with the fingerprint scanner. That is how they all work, you have to touch it multiple times so it can read from all angels. A bit of a noob mistake. Most people want to see the solana store and even though not many apps, show some in action. We get the rest, there is the seed vault and otherwise is a standard android phone. Seems harsh to blame the phone because you dont know how to use it. Or to knock its quality based on price, when they have dropped the price now. With the 30M Bonk that they give, you can actually pick up the phone, sell the bonk and receive a profit. I live in Australia, imported the phone with a case and screen protector. Sold the Bonk and had just over $320 AUD or $170 USD profit!

Good to see another user of the PH-1. I'm still using mine as my daily driver and like you mentioned the build quality is unmatched and I'm considering upgrading to the Saga. Like yourself I'm not into the crypto scene. Are you able to do a camera comparison to the Samsung S22/S23 and Pixel 7? I'm not expecting it to win this comparison but am interested to know the picture quality.
