About this video:
I had to build this project quickly, so I wasn't able to take the time and talk through it, step by step. But, I did capture each step of the build process and the article on my website is a step by step tutorial. I also explain how to mount the fireplace surround toward the end of the video.

This is super helpful. I am a retired carpenter by trade and really like how simple this is. I am renovating my retirement home and want to ad a fireplace to my kitchen/living room open concept. This design will go great with the shaker style kitchen cabinets I will be installing. We all know when entertaining the guest all drawn to the kitchen area. A beautiful fireplace will push the comfort over the top. Thank You so much for this video.

You've put together a nice package for the "beginner to intermediate" woodworkers. A category that I'd venture to say was the large majority. Thanks for your efforts and the complete offering!

I couldn’t be happier with this fireplace! Haven’t tested the heat output seeing as it’s the middle of summer but the look is fantastic

Did get your plans finally but you don’t tell us what thickness the wood is, especially the frames on the styles. Are they 1/4 or 1/2 inch frames??? Ie how much do the frames stick out above the flat board? Thank you.

How much approximately would the materials cost?

What size nails did you use in the nail gun to fix the pieces together?

Is this to code? I thought a combustable surround could only be a certain thickness if they were 6"-8" from the firebox. Looks great though.

Try as I may, I cannot get a copy of the plans. Downloaded 3X but no plans in email. Not in Junk either. Use Gmail. Need your plans as I'm just getting ready to start. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Mike

Isn't it kind of dumb to make a fireplace surround out of combustible matierial? In fact its a code violation
