Just used these drains on a job. Exactly the same install process. They are so much nicer then the bigger Aco drains, but a lot more expensive! Good work as always, love your videos

Thanks for this video, I'm looking at doing a single run along the back of our house in a few months - new build house, lower than the slope of the back garden which has a lovely not at all absorbent clay mud beneath the turf. Heavy rain makes me a bit twitchy. Well done Taylor Wimpey... ;)

I've got an old surface water channel made of half round clay pipes which are all cracked. It's set back slightly from a 2 story back wall. I think it's meant to take water hitting the wall into the drain. Would you replace it with one of the threshold channels in your video? I don't know if it's even needed.

AHA! I remember Scott! How could I forget! I worked with him donkeys ago on Velindre hospital, I was the noob forklift driver that did destroy a rather large wall but it wasn't one of his. But I'm sure if it was his wall he'd have been ok with it. We went out on the lash (I specifically remember he loved that term) in Cardiff too, I didn't put my hand in my pocket and got absolutely obliterated and sent home in a taxi to the Rhondda. 👍😁😂
Great to see you, buddy. New subber👍

Hey, loving the videos, they've been super helpful, I have a question about drainage, do you find you have to get planning for this sort of thing? I was thinking of running one along the edge of my house for a new patio and connecting it to the drain where the gutter downpipe goes, but Google says this might actualy need planning? Any advice please? It's causing me a nightmare figuring out drainage! Just want to add, we can't have it running to a grass area because the lawn is on a slight slope towards where the patio would be, and we'll be putting some oak sleepers between lawn and patio, we could have a wide gravel trap I guess? I'm trying to avoid soakaways because it's quite heavy clay here and I'd have to dig it by hand... Sorry for long message, massive respect to you, thanks in advance.

Scott, big fan and fellow Cardiffian now living on the south coast of England (don't hold it against me!) - but watching your videos make me feel like I'm back home! Quick question, in this video you are laying the "Not-ACO" along the side of the house. I've been told that the patio should slope away from the house so had intended to put the ACO along the far side of the patio and then run a drain pipe back through a trough to meet up with the gutter drain on the house side. I'd prefer to have the ACO next to the house like you have done - are there any disadvantages to having the patio slope towards the ACO next to the house rather than away from it?
