Dr. J came to mind yesterday after I watched a YouTube video about the recent (alleged) marital affair of Carmello Anthony in which he is shown with a woman scantily dressed on a boat, and she is not his wife, LaLa Anthony. Before I read about the (alleged) marital affairs of Dr. J, I only knew about his great basketball career. As children, my slightly older brother asked me to watch an ABA or NBA game. He wanted to show me how great a basketball player and father Dr. J was. Dr. J's young sons appeared on the court with him, and I recall a game between the New York Nets or the Philadelphia 76ers and a rival team. A fight broke out between the players, and the announcer mentioned how honorable it was that Dr. J did not participate in the fight as the cameraman pointed the camera at him. Dr. J was a champion basketball player to African-American youth across the United States. My brother tried to mimic Dr. J from what he wore which included white high-top Converse shoes to how he played basketball which included dunks. Dr. J is not alone with a history of (alleged) extramarital affairs so has Carmello Anthony, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and other great basketball players. -Colorado
