The 1st article was poorly researched garbage; Vicky Butler Henderson had been a Top Gear presenter up until 2002, and the 1st ever Top Gear presenter in 1977 was a woman.

That said: Jezza made the series a hit, and it crashed in popular viability without him... twice! 😆 .
