Thank you so much. I have so many plumbing questions about my new home. Can you do a video about the water lines coming into condos. My HOA refuses to give me access to the water shut off value. There's a locked cabnit on the side of the building. In an emergency I have to wait for someone to shut off the water. I get the feeling that the reason I am not allowed access is the valves and pipes are old and need to be replaced. Definitely not get the full story.

I live in an apartment building. I'm on the bottom floor, and I have had to deal with water coming through the wall, and flooding my bedroom floor. This has happened a few times recently, because we've had some heavy rain storms this summer. So the first couple times, "maintenance" just pulled up my carpet, and plugged in a floor fan until it was dry. Luckily, they left the fan in my room for a week, because it rained a lot again after the 2nd notice, and more water came in, I did not see any work done on the outside of the building, to prevent the water from coming in. They just used a bunch of silicone on the inside along the wall, which was washed out before it could dry the first time, and they just put more goop along the bottom edge of the trim. Also, they did not even bother putting the carpet back in place. Which is actually still pulled up from a water heater failure last year that flooded my room
WHAT DO I DO??? HELP!!!

This doesn't give an answer who's gonna cover the expenses. Insurance company told me it will go on my policy even thos damage is caused by neighbor above me, that just doesn't make any sense!?!?

Apartment below, no heat turned on, which caused pipes to freeze/burst, in turn causing us to have no heat or water. Utility Co won't repair, as thousands of $'s owed by owner and even if they did repair, it would happen again due to no heat being paid for or turned on. The downstairs apartment is a garbage tip and we are also getting mice come into our unit. Our homeowner's insurance won't do anything to help because problems caused by other unit. Property owner won't do anything as they have no money, due to numerous fines from HOA. HOA won't do anything because they state the homeowner is responsible. How do we deal with this?

Hello,
Water leaked into my living/kitchen and master bedroom. May have been caused by neighbor upstairs. Condo refused to pay anything. The other unit owner sold their condo unit and we can’t find them. My home owners insurance is giving me the run around. Im not sure what to do
Please advice.

I’m on top floor unit below got a drip from my shower drain can I repair the grout and seal it myself or have condo association send a plumber in and all they want to rip up the whole shower drain very costly when it’s just the grout and seal around the drain

We live in the very top floor of the building and our condo unit is experiencing water leak every time it rains and the water is coming through outside the wall, we had talked to the property manager a couple times but have nothing or committed to fix the problem. What should be our next step to do? Shall we hire a lawyer?

Exactly what happened in my parents condo. It was never fixed because the HOA stated that the insurance didn’t pay enough. Wish you all were in Florida. If you have anyone you can recommend in the Miami area, PLEASE let me know. Thanks

We have similar issue, unit downstairs below my kid's unit start to have leak and water dripping from a hole in drywall in her bathroom. HOA will send out a plumber to find out where the leak is, is it in common area, or actually come from us. Kid contacted insurance company but they said nothing to do now unless it is our fault.

We also have a local plumber that we can use if needed. Hopefully it is an easy fix if it is our fault, but neighbor drywall will have to fix repaired as well. Will your be responsible to fix all damages in downstairs unit, or their insurance should cover what inside their unit?
We will see. Any comments and tips?

I have a leak in my condo and my neighbor upstairs is not opening door or responding to phone calls from the association. The association is telling me that I have to deal with the owner upstairs directly. My insurance is also telling me the same thing. Who is responsible in this situation? I’m feeling hopeless :(

Would a home warranty take care of that?
