Makarova had a way of doing this that was especially noticeable in her White Swan pdd. I remember from her autobiography saying they largely let her into Vaganova at the advanced age of 14 because even without training she could get her legs up round her ears, but I'm wondering if the twist-o-flex shoulder joints that allow this are also a requirement! 😂

Beautiful in one way and if viewing from a distance but horrific and actually looks ugly to see, close up. Surely this is not a “requirement for training to be a ballerina? It’s extreme in the least!
