Research suggests that the quality of teacher-child interactions within the preschool classroom plays a crucial role in children’s development, learning and behaviour. Teacher-child interactions can be defined as the social and instructional exchanges that teachers and children have throughout each and every day.

This talk will present key findings from the Singapore Kindergarten Impact Project (SKIP) on the quality of teacher-child interactions in 80 preschools. Preschool teachers, parents and other caregivers can use these findings to enhance children’s thinking and learning through quality interactions.
