Midwest Weedcraft is back once again! This time we are going to go over ground ivy, or Creeping Charlie. This often ignored, very common backyard plant. Also known as Gill over the ground, this member of the mint family has a host of useful properties. Come along and learn with me my friends, you are always welcome.

I have always wanted to learn about edible and medicinal plants I'm looking forward to seeing what else you have to teach.

I went out earlier today, got some ivy from the yard (Creeping Charlie) and washed, and boiled myself some tea. Added a tsp of molasses for the sweetness. Very good tea with or without something added.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge; I’m relatively new to North America n was wondering what this is; we have a similar creeper in India which is edible n very good as a herbal medicine; so looking at this creeping Charlie I thought it must be a good plant which might a relative of the one I know 😊
