Low Sulphur content but high wax content making it require a heated pipeline. This is such a capital intensive and high operating cost venture, that I wonder who will be ready to put money into it. Might take the next 50 years for this to be a reality. By the way, it is in the open that the initial batch of mined (~200, 000 barrels) was sold to ChemChina at a value of KES 12B. Whoever gained from it, is another question.

There is a refinery built in Lamu port for export if I am not wrong, that is why they want to put a pipeline from Turkana to Lamu for the Lapsett project.

It's not all about exporting rather than selling it locally and the neighboring The government should focus on refining the oil and do off with the oil crisis that has been on place for a long time

OK, checks done..Tullow are from Ireland UK.. question every Kenyan should be asking now is : what is Kenya gaining? After seeing what happened to West Africa, I want to know how this will benefit Kenya. Why export crude oil..People are asking...instead of refining it and selling it as so. Can citizen tv please answer these queries? C'est tout.

Have your own refineries to produce end products instead of planning to export crude oil. Who bewitched Africans 😢

Kenyans are the one who shall develop the country.
Hydrogen sulfide should not be an issue of downgrading our crude oil as it can be easily removed by steel wool filtration.

Do not celebrate what you don't know the terms and conditions...we will still keep importing..ordinary Kenyan will still buy expensive fuel.
