This is basically like Ratatouille where Chef Skinner was planning to frozen dinners and taking advantage of a chef's name for branding... except Gusteau was long dead after Skinner pitched the frozen dinner ideas, whereas Gordon's still around when these were made, and I assume he greenlit these too...

For those who don’t know the two popular mathabs on Halal is this:
This is extremely simplified and I am not a scholar on this stuff at all so please do your own research as this is just a summary from my best understanding I can totally just be 1000% wrong

1. Eat from the people of the book; which extends to country wide

2. Debeha only (which usually is denominated as Halal food in the west)

Person of 1 would eat for example at an Outback Steakhouse no problem, person 2 wouldn’t unless meat is killed debyha

Both though couldn’t go to Japan or China and eat something off a menu if it’s Beef/Chicken/Lamb because it would be haram unless debyha

Debyha always preferred though in all cases
