Schwinn 1973 Schwinn Varsity Sport: Servicing the Front Hub

We took apart the front wheel hub, cleaned the components, greased everything and put it back together. We also replaced a bent spoke and trued the wheel. Unfortunately, when we took the tire off to replace the spoke, we discovered that it was so weathered that the edge of the tire crumbled off as we removed it from the rim. The tread on the tire was like new and the tire was a classic Schwinn style. We were hoping that the tires would not have to be replaced. If the bike was going into a "Schwinn collection" we could put the tires back on, but at the Bike Kitchen we assume that our bikes are going to be used. The tires are 24 X 1 1/4.

The Schwinn Varsity Sport is a kids bike that is a scaled-down version of their adult (Varsity) bike.

I was under the impression You were going to show steps of breaking down the front hub, , and reassembly. Even watching You truing the wheel would of been good.
