That method of hair transplant isnt the only method available. That one calls FUT(Follicular Unit Transplantation) Theres also another method called FUE(Follicular unit extraction). Where the individual hair is extracted from the donor area and move to areas where hair is thinner or absent. FUE is often preferred over other techniques, such as follicular unit transplantation (FUT), because it doesn't create a linear scar. Instead, FUE leaves behind small, punctate scars that are difficult to see, and recovery time is usually less than a week.

I’ve never seen a hair transplant where they remove the actual skin. In sweden they use a machine and just extract the hair directly from the back of the head
