To be honest I loved it! Aussies never hesitate to heckle others so kudos for standing up to the bullies. You've got a new fan

Im an Australian and am so embarrassed about this behaviour, I feel for both players. But I applauded her verbal 'bird flip'.

I’ve never heard such a disrespectful, rude crowd. Once again, Australian Open, shame on you!

I feel like Danielle was on the brink of tears before and after then interview but trying to hide it. The Australian crowd were being disrespectful. It's was not right how they treated Danielle.

It's not just cheering enthusiastically for the home player, which is normal. It's also constant below the belt heckling that is often not heard on TV. Tennis is a very mental game which used to have its own etiquette and is now being completely ignored. Imagine having this kind of heckling in a game of chess, it would be ridiculous. She was pissed of, like all players would be against this kind of crowd. Some cry, some send spiteful messages, etc.. and some become absolute tennis GOAT by winning 24 Grand Slams.

I'm not mad at her. She's spicy and she keeps it real. Deal with it 😂

I have to be honest, never been a big fan of Danielle, but I love how she handled the situation and in a way told them, up yours. Loved it 😅

Most of them just can't accept defeat. Just sour losers.

I don't like Collins but on this case I admire her for her response against an antagonistic crowd haha. She really gave it to them without being violent etc. unlike other players who most likely be shouting and cursing lol.

she went to UVA where my cousin graduated from only 2 years before her. Sometimes I used to watch UVA men's players from the bleachers when they used to be ranked no.1 in the nation. Collins is a fighter, carrying that UVA spirit. She won fair and square against not just the home-favorite but also the toxic crowd! Well deserved, I am so proud

The Australian crowd have been awful when supporting the home crowd, Booing snd cheering for missing first serves

So honestly they deserve this attitude from Danielle

The audience at the big tournaments is becoming more and more antisocial, especially at the Grand Slams in Paris, New York and Melbourne. I like hard court tennis, but now I prefer to watch Wimbledon; that's the last real tennis audience that still knows how to behave.

Now I realize why she’s one of the biggest Serena fans. Great job not backing down against those awful Aussies.

Australian crowds have to be the worst of any country. Cheering supporting Australians, i get it. But the way they do it during serving and boo'ing that's just too far. Theres difference between supporting and being RUDE. It wasn't just this crowd either, i've seen it in the mens and womans at almost all games.
