I actually once saw a theory about Bennet actually having the Pyro gnosis, kinda like how Miko had Raiden's gnosis, but he doesn't know it. Long story short, the place the adventurers found him is quite questionable (a place with harsh weather that could possibly be Mare Jivari tho we have no confirmation and they just find a baby there) and we learnt that gnosis bring bad luck from Skirk
