I knew a guy who lived in Czechoslovakia. During Communism they would vote, but there would be only one person on the ballot at each position. So he didn’t want to vote because it was pointless. Over the town speakers they would announce the names of the people who hadn’t voted and told them to report to the polls. When he still didn’t go officials showed up at his apartment to make him go vote. That’s how they got 99% turnout.

Iv been saying this for the last 2 decades.
People ask why I don’t vote and I tell them because I refuse to give them permission to put their chains on me.
If I see a candidate who genuinely wants best for my nation then I will vote and in my life time this has not happened once.
I am however british, were I American I would have voted 3 times in my life, all for trump. I’m actually legit jealous of America for having someone who loves their country so much trying so hard to help the people even after he has been targeted by the same institutions which claim they are for the people.
