Wow, he is so different from the character in God's Own Country; that is where a real good actor can be recognized IMHO (had you told me that he was closer, in his mannerisms, to the movie's Johnny, I would've believed it without a doubt). Hope to see more of this guy.

Absolutely incredible film and he deserved the win! Call Me by Your Name is terrific but it has overshadowed this film because it is mainstream and this is Independent.

HURRAY! The quiet complexity of "Johnny" really moved me. He'd been waiting without hope for a long time and it made him bitter and abusive to others and himself. ///
"Call Me By Your Name" is getting all the attention in the U.S., and it's a lovely film; but "God's Own Country" is one of my favorite films overall for the year. ///
I hope this is a huge boost to his career, as well as Alec Secareanu (Georghe, whose stunning character is the catalyst for change in the lives and minds of everyone), and Harry Smith (the "young auctioneer" who took a huge risk in a small part and is utterly convincing). ///
Ian Hart and Gemma Jones brought amazing depth to their characters, in casting decisions that too often seem neglected. ///
THANK YOU to Francis Lee for such a touching and timeless film. Nothing about this film is faddish or trendy, so it will last for a long time.
