When it comes to asking your Latina mom if you can sleep over a friend's house, an interrogation is part of the process. Hang in there. 💤 🛏

By the way, mami's name is officially: FLOR!

Omg, my Colombian parents wouldn’t even ask. They HAD to meet the parents in person and ask all the questions directly so they’d organise a merienda to meet their whole family before I was allowed to sleepover. 🤣 Ay, benditos sean!

My mom always said “No Sleepovers! Your friends can sleep over but you cannot sleep at their house. You can only sleep over at your grandma’s house”

My mom always say no to sleepovers because my dad se parte la espalda trabajando para que yo duerma en mi propia casa no en casa ajena xd

I think the 7 dislikes are the divorced dad, the nonexistent boyfriend, and the primos and tíos 😂

That tios, brothers, etc question was def my mom. It's actually kind of sad to think that this was my mom's way of protecting her daughters from sexual assault without saying it out loud. Even though she made it very clear to us why she was asking and would then go on a 20-minute sermon about how she was protecting us and she didn't trust any strange men or women, it was a lot to take as a young kid mostly because you zone out. I remember asking my other Hispanic friends if they ever got those questions. Every one said yes but not a single one knew why except for me because my mom had told me why. Big lesson folks, give your kids the answers, it will help them understand that you're only looking out for their best interests and to keep them safe.

The daughter character reminds me of Velma. A Cuban Velma. Edit:There needs to be a Cuban mystery gang! Or a different colors of people mystery gang!

I remember asking and getting,
“Tu no tienes cama?! Trabajo duro para que tengas un techo sobre tu cabeza y tu quieres ir a una casa que quien sabe que hacen.... que venga ella pero tu no vas!!!!”

As a Cuban I can tell you that those sleepover interrogations took just as long but NEVER ended in a “ yes” 😂

This is awesome I love how on point all your videos are, like I am literally still living these stories in real life and still probably couldn’t hit the mark like you do Jenny!! 👏🏻😍

When I asked to go to a sleep over my mom would tell me the story about a single mother who would drug her son's friends to harvest their kidneys while they were asleep.
True story actually, she had newspaper evidence of the lady with the mug shot & headline.
She was called "La Riñonera", and this happened in Perú in the early 2000s. I guess Perú is like the Latin American version of Florida.
