Correspondent Seth Doane takes us inside the 12th century landmark, where 21st century tools, such as drones and computer animations, were as important a part of the restoration process as the artisans who toiled to bring Notre Dame back to life.

It's so wonderful how so many people from many countries came together to help restore and rebuild this priceless piece of history. It shows what good humanity is capable of when putting aside our differences and uniting.

My family’s Catholic and from India. My dad has always wanted to go Europe and finally got to go to Paris on a work trip. Unfortunately he never got to go to Mass there, and I thought we never would after the fire, but I’m glad we can now!!!

Amazing work done in only 5 years plus the stunning look the cleaned cathedral has now! Bright and light with vibrant colours. It was covered in soot before. Not only from the fire but from centuries of candles and pollution.

I cried when I saw the Notre Dame on fire. It was heartbreaking. I’m not catholic but it is part of the world’s history and heritage. Thank you to the artisans and craftsmen who rebuilt Notre Dame.

It is beautiful to see young carpenters doing these kinds of jobs again.

As an American man with deep family ties to Scotland and Normandy I am so thankful the building was restored to original condition and no cheap shortcuts.

Descendent of Lord Henry Brougham.

it is difficult to comprehend the incredible number of research carried out, skills put to use, know-how, ... But also delicacy, precaution, will, which it took to make Notre Dame even more beautiful, clear, vibrant, as it was 850 years ago when it emerged from the earth! it would have taken 50 years to achieve such a miracle in my country! Glory to God, glory to the workers, glory to the donors, and a huge congratulations to the French for having achieved this miracle! a very special thought for this deceased general whose rigor and enthusiasm greatly benefited this collective success!

Me and my family are continuously blessed and lucky to see her even during restorations in 2012 during her anniversary then. Soot and incensed pillars never felt so loved and peaceful. That was one Sunday mass that I was totally overwhelmed and cried a little, mentally singing God Help the Outcasts and The Bells💜🔔 so happy to hear her sing them again!!
