such an important topic this is. i am glad you brought it out, as a med student its really weird to tell girls and women when they come to blood donation drives that "nahi mam aapko toh haemoglobin lagega, yaha sirf mard hi important hai. app parle g leke jaiye."
only one gorl from our class in cllg could donate blood because she had a haemoglobin level of 15. turned out she grew up in the US
over 80% of women population in india is anemic bcoz of low haemoglobin levels.
