Town of Salem Guide, Tips, Tricks! How to get better at Town of Salem in the Early game.

Note: This guide video is a bit old and details of strategies and tactics may have changed.

Town of Salem is a browser-based game that challenges players on their ability to convincingly lie as well as detect when other players are lying. The game ranges from 7 to 15 players. These players are randomly divided into alignments - Town, Mafia, Serial Killers, Arsonists and Neutrals. If you are a Town member (the good guys) you must track down the Mafia and other villains before they kill you. The catch? You don't know who is a Town member and who is a villain. If you are an evil role, such as a Serial Killer, you secretly murder town members in the veil of night and try to avoid getting caught.

This video is an in depth explanation of early game logic for Town of Salem. It includes tips for town, mafia, and sk, in order to help the respective side win. This is not a complete guide to early game, important logic, but it will be helpful to know as you pick up and perfect the game.

I was townie and everybody was dead except for an SK and a "witch". Last day and SK thanks the "witch" just for the "witch" to reveal themselves as the MAYOR. They lynch the SK and town wins thanks to this tricky guy!

A tip I can share for Mafia is that you do not always have to perform your action, if you have one. As a Consort I have found it useful to not roleblock anyone for a night or two to throw spies off, and wait for your mafia, or the town, to gain information. There have been times where a Spy has revealed himself, or an Investigator has done so, and he spends the entire game getting roleblocked because he was unaware of a Consort being in the game. Another thing you can do is, when confronted by an Investigator, say "I'm an Escort, but it's bad play to Roleblock early on because I might hit an important role." That's gotten me out of a lot of trouble in the past.

My first time as SK I was lucky enough to kill the escort on the first turn (they were visiting someone else) so that cast suspicion on them and was lynched so I got away with it. Then I kept killing every night until I won. :)

Pretty good suggestions, esp. with not revealing your investigative findings too early. One thing I'd add for Mafia and other killing roles is along with having a role ready to claim, also make a fake will. If you claimed a role and people are growing suspicious, they may ask you to paste your will of your findings, which you will look far more guilty if you don't have one.

One time I was vet and jailed n1, next day jailor was found dead and killed by SK. Almost go hanged, but lookout saved me by calling out actual sk.

I remember when I was bodyguard and the person who I was protecting got attacked on night 1 by the mafia. For some reason, the godfather was the one who died and not a Mafioso. I don't remember exactly why the Mafioso wasn't the one who died, but I killed the godfather night 1. The reactions of everyone who was alive was them being amazed at how godfather was already dead on night 1. I got retri'd later and lived until the end, when the town won.

I had a game yesterday, where I was executioner. Night 1 I was jailed and told the jailor I was lookout. Night 2 the jailor executed the real lookout. I spent the rest of the game Jailed, since he thought I was a mafia-member :D

I run out of battery whenever I have things planned out and everything is perfect I run out of battery and lose everything it shuts down at like 30% it’s stupid

something that annoys me is when the votes are split.
I mean we reveal 2 killers and then a huge debate on whether to lynch one or the other.
I think that town should only reveal one target at a time or at least choose who to lynch early in the day.

Funny thing, I was ww on a normal all any match, and I claimed it on d1, never went out, and everybody ignored me until the end game. They were shocked to learn that I was no jester. I put in the death note when killing an sk and a medium: I Do Exist, nonbelievers!
Though for some reason I kept getting the message "You attacked someone" every full moon, yet no one died. Can someone explain?
