SKA WARS - Prince Buster Vs Derrick Morgan

From time to time personal disagreements between music artists have spilled out into the music.
Hip Hop music is littered with these examples of on-record feuds. But decades before Tupac and Biggie two of the biggest artists in Jamaican music, Prince Buster and Derrick Morgan, had a musical war that became so heated the government had to intervene. This became the first of many on-record battles that became known as, the Ska Wars.

Great documentary, but you left out the songs Don't Throw Stones and One Hand Washes The Other by Buster as part of the Ska feud

Magnificent work, Traxploitation; well done! Despite the fact that I did not grow up in Kingston, I definitely knew of the feud-- via my father at first and then on my own into high school. In the end it was a publicity stunt in my view, but in the beginning Prince Buster was vex for real. Who won? They both did. What a great canvass that feud provided for the musical masterpieces that followed!

I really appreciated this piece of history. All these years I never knew of this feud! All I did was listen to the songs, not knowing that they were targeted to either of these singers. 

I now know that the 'black head china man', was about Morgan! I used to think it was just a general social commentary, about life in Jamaica. And, all the songs you played were popular songs back in the days!

I wonder if people knew that these were songs aimed at these titans, in a feud?
