I had a neighbor a couple years ago who said she bought a small one in college, in the 70s, and still has it today! It's about 16 ft tall!

When i was 5 years old this is what my parents Ponytail Palm looked like as it sat in our hallway...now I'm 44 years old and its 7 feet tall in my livingroom.

One of the very few indoor palms that are nontoxic to our fur babies and I love it for that!

I’ve had a love for them forever! I have one that has been with me for 45 years and it has produced 2 pups over the years. It is large so it gets its own window spot in the winter.

I have one of these. My mum rescued it from the dumbster. I don't like palms at all but when I started touching it I coudn't resist taking it home. It's such a nice feeling to run your fingers through it's foliage.

I’ve never been remotely interested in one of these until now. Summer, you’re a very good plant ambassador.

This has become my favorite house plant of late. I had seen one in a YouTube video and loved the bulb that forms on the bottom. Too me about 4 months to find one. That was 6 months ago. Bought it as a baby with just a few leave and no stem or bulb. Today it is almost a foot tall and when just watered, has a spherical bulb about the size of a golf ball. Though no stem as of yet. From what I understand, the secret is to let it get very dehydrated before you water. If the bulb looks like a raisin and is as thin as the stem (or what it should be had you one) then it is ready to water. If you water it before then you will not get a big bulb. Just a fat stem like the one in this video. I water it once every 40 day or so and it's bulb almost doubles in size from the previous watering each time. I have a goal with this to bonsai it. Keep the bulb large and low to the ground and only let a few stems come up from it.

Absolute cat magnet!! My cat isn't interested in any of my 70ish other houseplants, and yet she climbs up to get to my ponytail palm no matter where I put it!

I am a lover of this plant! I have so many I may be considered a hoarder of ponytails palms. I bought 2 small pots with baby ponytail palms. One pot had 6 and the other pot had 5. I never separated them. I control their size by keeping them in small pots. On sale at Lowe’s for $1.50 each. They are still alive and green. Living their best plant lives! They will be 11years old this summer 🎉. I bought 6 more baby pots at Walmart 2 years ago. Some have 9, 7, 11. I will need to repot them when they out grow the pot. I like raising them from babies.

Oh my, I need another one of these in my life! I had one many years ago and didn't know how to properly take care of it and I killed it, or it would be a very old plant close to 40 years old, dang it. I love the look of these and yours is just so beautiful, and you're right it is a plant that you can't stop touching, but all the kitties I've had never touch my plants, I did have a female that liked to play with my spider plant and one of my Christmas cactus' but the two I have now leave everything alone, thank goodness. That kitty got cancer and passed away over two years ago, I miss that dang cat. Thanks Summer I really love this plant and I miss my old plant, I will be looking for another one. See you tomorrow.

I love this plant, and yes I have had to keep him up high away from my cat. Thank you for making this video Summer. Also, love the plant pot you have this plant in.

My mom grew these outside in South Florida when I was little. They can grow to be massive and so beautiful (slowly, however).
