The problem is 350 million Americans can't move to Europe. So we need European policies to move to America. And they are fighting like hell to prevent that.

We have a simular story! I got pregnant at 17 and had my daughter at 18. I didnt live as a single mom in America though...because of the social support in Germany I moved here to help raise my daughter. I moved to Germany 4 weeks before my daughter was born.
My mom and step mom are from Germany but my parents stayed in the US.
It was a struggle here to as a single mom, but I would never have made it if I lived in the America.
I met my current husband here when my daughter was 2 and he is the best dad to her!
We also now share a 3 year old son.
I turned 30 this year.😊 So happy ending!🌈

You are a true warrior for being able to get through all those problems. As a teen I can't even imagine what was it like.

First!
Again!
But all kidding aside, I'm sorry you had such a difficult life. And I'm glad that you found a new home and (financial) stability here! Many love greetings from Augsburg.

And this is why I support and follow you. I lived in Germany for 6 years but could never quite articulate my full experience of living there. You are able to communicate the thoughts in my head in a way that explains why I still dream of life there to this day. ❤❤❤❤❤

You are fortunate you had good health, intelligence and stamina. Without all of these things your life might have been very different

Good. Welcome to our side of the pond. It's not perfect, it will never be, but at least we actually try to take care of people. The American dream died soon after Reagan and Bush Sr. I can't speak for everyone, but when we were kids, we looked up to the American society as a guideline. Only years after we realized how fundamentally rotten it is. Glad you made the right choice. 😊

Also it’s kinda sad and funny how you would probably get shamed by people for choosing a professor position and they would say that’s why you were struggling.

I see so many people shame others for choosing a degree in education or similar field and all I can think is, if everyone suddenly stopped taking education, who would teach the children? But yeah let’s shame all the teachers for choosing a low paying job instead of questioning why we pay teachers so little

A lot of the points you make about Germany are actually found in Canada as well. We have free healthcare, affordable daycare options, great pension plans, maternity leave, etc. The only problem is that our housing is becoming very unaffordable. However, if you strategically invest in real estate then it’s not that bad. Just have to know where to buy with the most expected growth. The Canadian dream is more achievable.

The American dream was always just that, a dream. I really do hope things will change for the better over there one day though. It can't go on the way it is.

We can't read the bottom of these texts because, the title is so long. Thought you should know while it's fresh so you could fix? *Hugs from Canada 🤗💕

They say to work harder. What happens when you break your body? Every american i know is barely making it, and we are just one medical emergency away from homelessness.

I’m currently living paycheck to paycheck, with debt in America and I don’t even have kids. I make 16.50 an hour working 40 hours a week and I often skip meals. It’s ridiculous.
