Should've known Jason Whitlock was behind this

All who say “that’s football” or “that’s business” are idiots. Tough decisions can be made and tough messages can be sent with class and respect. You don’t have to string people along and can easily be honorable in the delivery and parting of ways. Or you can be an an ass about it and the only people who will show up to your funeral will be there to confirm your demise with their own eyes.

This happens at every level except youth. As a coach and father of players I know someone should have told him that those scholarships are not guaranteed. I wish they were but they're not.

Deion Sanders thought he actually had something cooking. Only thing he has done is expose Shaeduer as a below average QB and that he is all show.

This is a part of playing football. Everyone doesn't make the team and some people get cut. He is still young and can go somewhere else and play and/or start and thrive. Most people are not going to the next level anyway. I hope he and others use this as a teachable moment and as an opportunity to grow stronger and more resilient. Take these lessons to be successful in other areas of life that are bigger than any sport.

What I don't understand is how can a scholarship just be taken away for non disciplinary reasons?

Everyone in the comments acts like this normal..I’ve been cut, Deions behavior on this is not normal most coaches will shake your hand say good luck or whatever..if you don’t believe me look at Colorado’s record last 9 games…you think Deion wasn’t being a unapproachable prick to his current team..please

I'm still trying to understand. Why people give deion so much credit as a Colorado football head coach when he hasn't proven nothing to college as a whole that he's one of the best to coach this level of football?

People arent understanding this video. The kid will be fine. Deion, however, will always be a prick.

He told them to enter the portal. He told them to leave. Now he’s making it sound as if they had a choice.

Grow up dawg. Sometimes you're not him, don't get mad, get even. Montana went out and did his thing, do yours.

First, the fact that a player was notified by a coach 5 minutes before his meeting, then told ...oh wait nevermind, it's actually later...is an indication of how Deion runs his operation. Second, this kid isn't the only one saying these types of things about Deion. It would be one thing if he was the ONLY one saying this stuff. Third, he has an assistant do the tough part for him? If true, this is not a man, rather he is a coward. I understand that this is a part of life and it's a tough pill to swallow when it comes to getting cut or fired from a job, but show me another coach worth his salt that has openly trashed his players for all to see on camera. When Deion said that he was bring his luggage and that it was "Louie" told me right away this guy is an arrogant ass. Do it professionally and with dignity. By the way Deion, the Lord spread his grace on you years ago with your own personal demons...and now look at how you treat others. You better go read Jesus' parables concerning the giving of grace to others when you yourself have been shown grace (and no I'm not talking about cutting a kid...that's life).

You know what i did in highschool when my coach told me my sophomore year i wasnt good enough to play varsity and id only be a fifth string receiver. I weighed 130 pounds at the time. I hit the weight room all year came back my junior year 170 pounds ate worked out with upper class men to help me out. You know what happened my coach had an affair at the school had to step down from everything karmas a bitch. Guess who started senior year at wide receiver from all my hard work and was in every snap almost every special team. An i just decided after being hit for so long i didn't wanna play at the next level. Instead of crying transfer portal and id seek revenge against people that didn't believe in me next time i played cu.

It’s not Deion’s fault if you’re not good enough. Deion told everyone what he was going to do the day he got there.

This young man got a taste of how the real world works and that's okay. Bottomline, you didn't make the cut and that's okay too! Look at it this way, your college is paid for and you no longer have to risk your health or mental stability. He'll, it seems you were dealt the better hand, because most kids have to go into debt to pay for college.
