Do you mind putting up multiplying & dividing polynomials?

If I have to multiply something by a negative number, then I simply move that entire term to the other side of the equal sign, and perform normal positive multiplication there instead. This way, I won't need to worry about the "change the sign of everything" nonsense. =P

3L^2 - 4t^2 - 5t - 8

Yeah....I thought the first one was an L ;)

I have read some of the replies that you guys left . I have a lot of respect for Professor Leonard’s teaching ability & he does give a very good explanation of what is going on with derivatives & Integrals.
I unfortunately do not have some 3 hours to do a chapter on improper integrals, as most of my calculus lectures go for 2 hours, with a 15 min break at the one hour mark. So I have to get through the material in as short as time as possible. Which is why their are tutors for students to revisit the material a second time so they get it.
Professor Leonard is probably the best at explaining just what really is going on.

Why is a Professor of Mathematics teaching at a community college . & not. Lecturing at University

You. seem to repeatedly repeat yourself, like you feel we are not paying attention, you area good maths teacher, but so am I.After teaching for some 20 years I sometimes feel you are spending to much time teaching material that the vast majority of your students should already know.Your Calculus videos are a prime example of this.One should not attempt to study calculus unless they completed pre calc.
The first two chapters in your cal1 class is by passed in my class.Functions & trig identity’s are taught first.If you can not solve basic algebra equations, quadratic equations forget
