I knew this would happen when it got an indefinite delay. The same thing happened basically to Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines, also a paradox game. If they could have cancelled that one, they would have, except they'd already taken pre-orders, so they just fired the devs and gutted the entire game. There's some serious mismanagement at Paradox, it feels like this keeps happening to their games. I feel bad for the devs.

I'm glad I was skeptical and didn't jump on the hype train. That being said, too bad that this got prematurely canceled, it had the potential to blossom into something great.

I think they announced it way too early. I think people got bored waiting for progress that just didn’t seem to hit the mark.

I’m hoping that they still put out some competition for The Sims even if it’s not now or the very near future. They had great ideas and it looked great. Sad to hear this project is cancelled but we can only hope we get something even better later on

The unique selling points of LBY have been "player friendly", " modable" and "Humble". That's why I so totally didn't care about the graphics (the first video game I ever played was Pong).

So. What's left now? Both Project René and Inzoi will be sheer monetization hell and Vivaland is focusing on multiplayer which makes me wonder if the single player mode will be worthwhile. So if the tiny indie studio behind Paralives isn't able to succeed where Paradox failed, I guess I will be playing ts2/3/4 forever.

I wanted LBY to succeed so very much.
