Nice tutorials--I upgraded to X1 a while back but have been too lazy to learn it and move off of Sonar 5.

@MCIHomeStudio thanks for the quick reply. i feel like an idiot now. yes ur rite it did come bundled with sonar x1 producer but i was running guitar rig as standalone rather than a vst. after scanning the vst folders i found it as u stated. its working perfectly now and i have started laying down tracks following ur tut. plz keep the tuts coming. im looking forward to parts 3 and 4

I have a question and can't seem to find the answers online (maybe asking it wrong?). I wanted change the frequency of my tuning from the standard 440 "A" to 432. I can't seem to figure this out, any ideas? Equal temperament is fine and if it's not - I could adjust the other notes accordingly. However, I need to know if there's a setting in X1 that will allow me to manually adjust the frequency, relative to tuning. Forgive me if I'm wording this wrong, I'm still an amateur...

You can also use exciter plugin to add some gain instead of EQ... Exciter will add more color than EQ does.

Hi @MCIHomeStudio. When I´m clicking on the little plus simbol to add a synth and then clicking "insert synths" (2:50) there are only about 3 things I can choose. How do I get the others? Please excuse my english I´m from germany.

@MCIHomeStudio I find your videos great! I know very lil about any software and this kinda get me going. I was wondering if you have any info or video on how to setup and run a midi controller for recording and if it can be used to control drums and guitar instruments inside of Sonar while recording. I was given a M-Audio 88es keystation midi controller, a guitar and bass and small drum set and got sonar x1 studio for 79 dollars last night i wanna try to make music. can this 88es take me far?

awesome tut man. how did you hook ur guitar up to ur pc for use with sonar and guitar rig? i use a simple usb interface. guitar rig works fine in standalone but within sonar i cant seem to get them to work together. how have you setup ur audio devices and how have you routed them via the track and bus settings? i read that it could have something to do with asio drivers. im using behringer usb low latency drivers for my guitar rig. keep up the good work mate best tut on 4 sonar on youtube so far

Great tut, do you have any good ideas for an input device for around 200-300 bucks for my 1/4" jacks, also a sound card?

This was my encouragement to go ahead and learn how to use Sonar LE, thank you very much. I almost gave it up, and started using Audacity, but I will go back to Sonar to give it a give it a try. I am using Roland Tri-Capture audio interface that came with the Sonar X1 LE software, so hopefully in you coming tutorials you would show how to utilize the software with the auido interface, thanks again
In the end of last tutorial, where you showed the Effects FX window when you right click on the track where it says FX, in my Sonar it opens a shorter window, not as long as yours, why is that? I can go to Cakewalk, Sonar X and then another window open for some effect, not many though. I dont see that Boost 11 !! Thanks for your help

@toftisnice The Studio edition has Session Drummer 2. It looks and works very differently. But for most applications I would imagine you'll get comparable results. This tutorial is showing Session Drummer 3 (within Producer edition). I've just downloaded the Trial version (Producer) and it does not include ANY Session Drummer (unless I'm missing something). Pretty bad trial, if you ask me.

Very very helpful, thank you! Just curious how you are physically recording your guitar and vocals. I see that each track has 2 waveforms; I'm guessing this is because you recorded in stereo with 2 mics? I only have a large-diaphragm condenser mic, how can I get my tracks in stereo? Also, did you mic your guitar amp or did you plug your guitar directly into an audio interface? Which method is considered ideal? THANK YOU!!!!

In this part, i was hoping to see how you created the patterns for the different instruments, whether using a midi controller or a piano roll.

Great Videos. But I have nothing inside of Guitar Rig 4. There is no presets or amps or anything. How do I get them?
