BEST DIY Solder Helping Hands (Third Hand)

This is by far the best helping hand I've ever used for soldering!
Pretty cheap to make as a DIY project and you'll use it forever!

THE WIRE I USED is: 5mm armature wire

I used that little helping hand thing for quite a lot now and it was a pain every time.
It's probably good enough when you have to hold a little circuit board or something like that, but for what I use it is just NOT GOOD ANOUGH!

So my friend Chad Kapper gave me the idea to use that thick alluminum wire (I think it's called Alluminum Armature wire) and I really have to thank him because it's really great. Really stiff and it works just great!!!

Can't be any more happy with it, considering that I spent almost nothing to make it...

Can't wait to solder stuff with it but then I thought I can use thore alluminum arms for other things, so I made some more...
I really can't tell you how useful they are...

Love it, I'll get onto it cause hate the floppy crocodile clips on my store bought helping hands. Even wrapping the teeth with heatshrink, jaws bite and mark softer insulation.

I can see that being really helpful. you could even add on of those carbon filter fans to remove the solder smoke. I've heard they make long soldering sessions unbelievably better

If I position two wires next to each other to solder them together will they stay together once I release the arms or is there some spring back in the arms that will create a gap between the wires when I release the arms?
