The Golf Evolution team discusses the D-Plane. The D-Plane is an important concept in golf instruction, but it is a fairly simple concept that's virtually summarized by this phrase: "the ball flight laws in 3 dimensions." This video explains the basic D-Plane concepts in less than three minutes!

@CaptainAndrewWiggins the ball stars where the face is pointing. the more you hit OUT on the golf ball, the more the ball will draw. This is why the weight should be forward, and the handle forward at impact. Face slightly open, path slightly to the right will make the ball push and draw back

I had to watch it a couple of times. I have come to realise that I have no idea why the ball goes where it goes, and why it curves where it curves.

what's this have to do with hitting the shot you want to hit when you want to hit it?

You don't need the D-Plane to hit the shot you want to hit when you want to hit it. For that, what we call "the ball flight laws" are fine: "The ball starts generally where the face is pointed and curves away from the path."

The D-Plane is talked about a lot, but it's really very, very simple. This video covers about 80% of what there is to know about the D-Plane.
