You should not set 'ether1' as the "Target" interface; it must be designated as "Dst". Using it as "Target" disrupts packet flows, causing the router to function incorrectly. Additionally, this configuration can lead to issues with the firewall, as chains may not operate as intended, especially if you have a public IP and specific firewall rules for management. It should be like that: Target (bridge local), Dst: (wan)

you applied this to ether1, is that your WAN? or is that your downstream where your local PC is plugged into? which does it need to be applied to?

My wan interface is bond0.10 and this just does not work in this setup.

Wow, this video really left me with more questions than answers. It's frustrating to watch a tutorial that doesn't provide enough context or explanation. Maybe the creator assumed we all have a certain level of knowledge about the topic, but for beginners like myself, it's really not helpful. I had to search for additional resources to understand the non-default value used in the video.
