As you read the four gospels you get the sense that the male disciples believed they were following the King and Conqueror of the Earth the biblical Lion but they got the lamb. I don't think that The Magdalene ever followed the lion but always the lamb. This is at least some of the understanding she was able to give the other disciples. Also, she never doubted that he would rise again. Her faith was the strongest of all of them and that is most likely why Jesus loved her most. She got him.
