Corvette Z06 2023! Inside the Supercar + Cold Start

Got invited to see the 2023 Corvette C8 Z06 in NYC. And sit in it. And start it up.

What impressed me, according to Tadge Juechter the Z06 w/ the ZO7 option, “Will hang with the C7 ZR1 for quickest lap of a session, but if you look at the average lap over a full tank of fuel, the C8 Z06 will be quicker.” He went on to say that the difference in Z06 lap times over a session is zero, even negative. Sometimes the fastest lap of the day was the last lap.

IMHO to have a car that does not lose performance lap after lap is amazing! I use to run my C5R-427 at Road Atlanta and I am so looking forward to getting the Z06. When I signed up for the order queue Sep 2020 I wasn't sure what I would be getting. Kudos GM you exceeded my expectations.

I’m honestly a huge fan of every design aspect on the Z06. Naturally Aspirated, physical buttons, simple infotainment. That’s priceless to me, because it harkens back to a simpler beautiful time. Im saying this is as a Ford fan, and ford has gone off the deep end trying to make everything electronic, and I’m not impressed😂

Was never a fan of cheaply built US vehicles but man, I had the z51 c8 on a track (first time ever on a track) and jeeeezz I was killing it with this current Vette. The vehicle just inspires such confidence and enabled myself to not sweat a drop of fear. I'm seriously considering getting one as my next vehicle.. In all honesty I WOULD NEVER before consider an American vehicle but after driving this, I'm sold!

It’s interesting to see a video of this car coming from the tech/everyday person perspective. Sam doesn’t even mention the flat plane crank v8 that revs to almost 9k rpm or the fact that this engine makes the most power ever in a naturally aspirated v8, but he does highlight the ports, wireless charging, roof mechanism, carbon fiber, infotainment, etc. Loved the video Sam, keep up the good work.

I don’t understand why some people get so hung up on wanting the latest infotainment system on Supercars and sport cars. The point of getting a car like this is to appreciate that naturally aspirated visceral V8 sound, enjoy the performance and connection to the road. As opposed to focusing on having the latest and greatest infotainment system.

The C8 Z06 looks even more like the F22 Raptor, than the base Stingray.
