Additionally, the city's iconic shopping mall is a testament to the ongoing transformation of Nigerian urban centers.

One of the most prestigious addresses in Uyo, Shelter Afrique is a planned residential area developed through a collaboration between the Akwa Ibom State Government and Shelter Afrique, a pan-African housing organization. The estate features spacious, well-maintained roads, lush greenery, and high-end homes with modern designs. It is home to the city's elites, including business moguls, politicians, and expatriates. Uyo boasts an iconic shopping mall that highlights the ongoing urban transformation seen across Nigeria. The Ibom Tropicana Mall, part of the larger Ibom Tropicana Entertainment Centre, is not just a shopping destination but a lifestyle hub. It features a wide range of retail outlets, including international and local brands, a modern cinema, eateries, and spaces for cultural and social gatherings.

This mall exemplifies the shift towards global retail standards in Nigerian cities, offering residents and visitors a world-class shopping experience. It also serves as a significant economic driver by creating jobs and fostering local businesses.

The rise of shopping malls like Ibom Tropicana underscores the evolution of urban centers in Nigeria. Cities such as Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, and now Uyo are witnessing an influx of such modern facilities, catering to the growing middle and upper-class population. These malls are more than commercial spaces; they symbolize aspirations for global connectivity, cultural convergence, and economic progress.

Ewet Housing Estate stands as one of the oldest but most desirable residential neighborhoods in Uyo. Known for its expansive mansions, beautifully landscaped compounds, and well-paved streets, it offers a mix of traditional luxury and modern conveniences. The estate also houses some of the city's finest schools, healthcare facilities, and recreational centers, making it an all-encompassing environment for upscale living.

Uyo's luxurious neighborhoods and its state-of-the-art shopping mall reflect the city's rapid growth and its aspirations to rank among Nigeria's most developed urban areas. The combination of upscale living and modern retail infrastructure not only enhances the quality of life for its residents but also positions Uyo as a leading example of the country's broader transformation.

I decided that I will retire in Uyo after 33 years in USA. I went there and was blown away with the peace and serenity. I am moving ❤

Thanks for concentrating on Africa, particular Nigeria. It's because of videos like this that I choose to live here in Uyo after 3 decades living all across the western world, including 25 years in the United States. Someone needs to take us around Nigeria so we may see the light of the rest of our country.

Without videos like this, I wouldn't have known that Lagos, where I was born, isn't just one of the trashiest and insane cities to dwell in Nigeria, there're many better cities in Nigeria other than Lagos and Portharcourt that are better planned, clean, peaceful, developing infrastructurally and much more safer place to call home.

Thank you Africa Views Reports. This brings back so many fond memories growing up in Ewet Housing. The vibe and serenity is irreplaceable. I recall as a kid we would usually play football most evenings at F Line and D line parks or Kings and Queens nursery school fields. I have been in the diaspora for almost 3 decades now as are most of my friends from way back but I am happy to see Ewet housing is just as serene as I remember. Keep up the good work and blessings to all my Akwa Ibomites and fellow Nigerians.

Uyo is one of the best, most serene, and finest cities in Africa. Unfortunately, many people do not know about this city.

A visit in 2019 was a big shock. Few cities in Africa offer such a comfortable living experience.

You all wait till the Lagos-Calabar Highway is completed!

In the next few years after that, the Nigerian economy will expand and explode into such prominence!!

Uyo and Calabar, and indeed all major cities and towns on the route of the Coastal Highway will experience a surge in business services and tourism!

👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!!
