SPECIAL REQUEST
"Nowhere to Run" written by Motown' Records' song writing and production team Holland--Dozier--Holland, was recorded by Martha and the Vandellas for the Gordy (Motown) label on October 21, 1964 and released as a single on February 10, 1965 with "Motoring as the B-side. Included on their third album, Dance Party, "Nowhere to Run" peaked at number eight on the Billboard Pop Singles chart and number five on the Billboard R&B Singles chart. Lead vocal was by Martha Reeves with background vocals by Rosalind Ashford & Betty Kelly. The musicians were The Funk Brothers- James Jamerson: bass guitar, Earl Van Dyke: electric piano, Richard "Pistol" Allen: drums, Jack Ashford: percussion, tambourine, vibes, Ivy Jo Hunter: percussion (snow chains), Robert White and Eddie Willis: guitar. The song is available on the 2 CD set Martha and the Vandellas Gold on Motown. . I do not own the right to the song, audio, or images contained in this video.
