This album ironically helped me through opiate withdrawals. Those were some long days. Some long weeks. Some long months. This album made me feel alright when I felt so lonely and raw feeling feelings I hadn’t felt in probably 10 years bc I blocked everything off.

I grew up in the early 90s and Mac by far is my most favorited artist, that says a lot right there! That’s a 30 year slew of artists and Mac like I said will always be my favorite. So with the fans he created I feel he’ll be forever immortalized.

That line "hold me close, don't hold your breath" always hit me. Very few times in my life have I felt fully vulnerable and loved by someone, so just picturing somebody saying I just need to hold close to them instead of anticipating or being prepared for the worst.

Remember hearing this album for the first time 5 years ago my freshman year of college and was going through a hard time and immediately cried from the first song come back to earth. Throughout the album it just seemed like a cry for help and sounded like he put so much of his feelings into his songs. My favorite album ever to date and I miss mac so much. Truly one of a kind. Before swimming came out it felt like I hadn’t heard from him almost as if he went ghost. And now I understand. Can’t believe it’s been 5 years already
