I have reached the age of 38. We have been trying to join the European Union since my childhood. 20 years ago, everyone wanted to join the European Union. We are so tired of the lies of the West that now the majority does not want to join the European Union. In fact, everyone says that Turkey should leave NATO because of the hostile attitude of the West towards Turkey.

Anyone writing something negative about Turkey is two faced. Turkey waited at the door of EU for years and years. Turkey has been an active Nato member for years and offered help in many different disputes only to be betrayed on matters that was important to her.

EU rejected Turkey so why shouldn't they look for an alternative bloc which they really need? After Turkey application to BRICS EU is now inviting Turkey to EU meet. There's a difference between an economic bloc & military bloc

The title is misleading, since NATO and the EU are different things. The EU hasn't accepted Turkey as a member yet. So joining BRICS is a legitimate option for them. Turkey's bid to join a trading alliance is not the same as Turkey joining a military alliance, so how can it be claimed that Turkey is betraying NATO?

Let's clarify a few things. BRICS is not the equivalent of NATO, it's just an economic block. Turkey already has its own economic block with Turkic countries. Although they have economic ties with the West but they are not a member of any Western economic block. If they join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, then these discussions can be revisited. But right now, it's just people who don't know anything making comments.

I don't understand why turkey remains member of NATO, they should have left NATO when they denied EU membership 50 years back, its a good for turkey they will not be exploited
