I found an amazing tea set in a charity shop over a decade ago and always assumed it was complete. Then sure enough very recently I walked into one of the charity shops in town like "wait...it's supposed to come with plates?!"

I love thrift shopping! I found a 1923 singer sewing machine in EXCELLENT condition, for $130 usd in an antique shop. She is now sitting in my room, and i have used her a couple of times!

I go thrift shopping for some weird yet exciting candles, to find interesting books, frames to put one of the colored pages from my anti-stress coloring books or hang my art, put fake flowers in vases, to find easy closet cosplay, find pieces of clothing for a goth look (I am learning the best way I can), and to just have fun looking around while being out of the house (it's one those "enjoy the little things" moment, if that make sense).

That was fascinating to see what is in NZ thrift shops. In the USA, I almost never see silver plated stuff in the charity stores. I think they sell it online. If I do, it's usually under glass, and there's not much of a selection. The teacup collections are astounding where you are. Stateside, the crockery here is much more casual and not gilded and way more coffee cup oriented. I have a teacup obsession, too! Here in Wisconsin I see a ton of crockery that is of the blue and white variety whether it be Blue Willow or otherwise. A TON. That was super fun coming with you, let's do it again soon!! 🥰

My Memaw had a large collection of unique salt and pepper shakers. She also collected those unique bottles that perfumes used to come it.

I collect the Cape Cod Avon stuff too! My husband was so incredibly sweet and bought me a full 12 piece place setting on Etsy with water goblets. It was such an incredible find. I have since been collecting the coffee cups, vases, candlesticks etc. when I can get a good deal on them. They are just stunning.

The lovely black stem glasses were Arcoroc Octime, the plates in that range are gorgeous, never seen it in the wild though ha! All that crystal and silver 😍 I love second hand shopping, haven't been in ages 😢

I hate that song too. I FEEL you on that. 😂 Awesome thrift store! We used to have ones like that here too but they've all vanished in the last decade. Or they've relabeled themselves as "vintage shops" and charge 10 times what they should. Also, YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY TEACUPS! 😂😂😂😂

I’ve only just started enjoying thrift shopping for my baby. Not so much for myself. I found so many amazing things for her, that are one of a kind. Little ones grow out of clothes so fast so it just makes sense.
