Artistic nudity is when a woman or man is fully naked, but without sexual theming unless based on trauma. They even got the definition wrong.

It’s weird that they think having an adult section would hurt their relationships with advertisers but allowing children to see porn openly won’t.

There's 2 developments related to this I'm surprised you didn't mention:
The first involves a Vtuber named Marina (a Kraken Vtuber who has...quite the history, to say the least). She actually went live on Twitch with a model that was straight up nude, and actually got hit with a ban (it was one of the first things I saw on the Streamer Bans twitter account this morning). A LOT of people in the VTuber community have called her out for basically risking the whole community with her actions.

The second involves the artist Baalbuddy (this pretty big comic artist), who also got banned. Why is this important? Well, on the stream he was doing before he was banned, he was sketching Michelangelo's David. Which you'd think would be the perfect example of "artistic nudity", but apparently it isn't.

Twitch should just make a separate website for 18+ content at this point. Either that or just put an 18+ warning as you enter the site and get rid of the "meant for 13+" statement.
Edit: Also, them saying "Well I'm not targeting the younger demographic." Then GO TO ANOTHER PLATFORM THAT DOESN'T!!!

It's crazy how much "adult content" can change people, especially kids that are still developing. Imagine Youtube allowing this to the extent twitch is. Almost every child is on social media in modern times so this being so open on a site that children commonly use is crazy.

Twitch is basically a strip joint with an arcade in the back.

I better not be seeing streamers getting banned for accidentally showing one second of a breast in a video game anymore!

Much like YouTube, twitch is taking the side of who's making the most money

When I was under 18, I would accidentally go on streams that were 18+ rated without knowing it. Like on a raid or something. It was never nudity or anything, just intense cursing or sexual topics. But the fact it would take multiple streams or the streamer mentioning it themselves for me to notice it was 18+ means there was ABSOLUTELY no safeguarding. There was no warning or request to verify your age. So they're literally just making porn freely accessible to kids-- because even if someone sees the 18+ label, doesn't mean they'll regard it. And it certainly doesn't mean that no one who DOESN'T want to see this won't STUMBLE upon it.

I have seen some warnings like "this stream contains graphic content" for some more gory games, but I don't know if that goes with the category or if that's something the streamer sets themselves.

I am a female gamer. Like, legit. I tried Twitch for a moment with the hope of a little extra income for doing something I absolutely love. It got weird so fast my head could have popped off. When I play online I am fully aware that most of whom I am playing with are kiddos, chirpers, squeakers, children... So I usually stay silent on the mic because I'm an adult and do not want to deal with it. When a man says, "Hey, how old are you?" I will leave that room. I do not care what mission I am on, or if I am shielding my team... Nope. I am there for the game. I can not deal with all the personal stuff. Can't the artistic nudes game on OF? They would probably make a lot more money. I honestly have nothing against it. I just wish I could play online without being harassed. I am there for the love of the game, not for any sort of attention.

The fact they felt the need to do this in order to not give these people consequences is insane

We did it folks. This might be the day that Twitch dies.

Glad twitch is making well thought of decisions to keep the kids safe

I love how some people would defend the sexual content by saying you have to be 13+ to use twitch. Like 13 year olds aren’t still kids or something 💀

Wait. For real? they're letting straight up nudity on Twitch now? as long as it's labeled? so a woman can make shirt of her topless body, call it art, and wear that on stream?

I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain I remember a time before 'just chatting' was even a category, that streamers were REQUIRED to be playing a game or they'd get some kind of ban. Then Twitch just ended up making the 'just chatting' category. Then that category just slowly dissolved into the hot tub nonsense, and now we're here. It's just absurd how Twitch kept tweaking their rules to protect "streamers" because they were making Twitch money. All of this happening right after Youtube did the same thing protecting SSSniperwolf. So sad to see these companies completely lose their backbone for what they initially stood for. I hope Twitch ends up losing a lot of advertisers.

All they had to do was ban. That's all they had to do. Ban the bikini shit, ban the topless nudity. But nope, couldn't stand behind their rules.

Twitch died when they failed to banned the bikini incident.
