I carried a man, who I found out later didn’t make it, on a stretcher off a Blackhawk and into an ambulance In Afghanistan 2010.

His truck was hit by an IED passing thru a village and his whole left side was mangled, but I saw in his right hand he had a death grip on his daughter’s teddy bear.

That one hit home HARD 😭😭😭😭
