Well, there's a way that allows us to battle heatwaves and urban heat islands (not all droughts and heatwaves are caused by climate change), and at the same time, boost the economy - start massive tree plantation schemes. It will require a small initial investment of not more than 20k crores (if done on a pan-India level), and can generate employment, help heal our damaged ecosystems, and serve as a long-term gift to future generations, too. As an Indian taxpayer, I would love to see my tax money be used for such schemes. But will the BJP do that?
