Months after Bonza collapsed and Rex entered voluntary administration, Australia could have a new airline: Koala Airlines. Meanwhile, KLM has taken delivery of its first Airbus A321neo, marking a new milestone for the airline as it continues to transform the fleet. Lastly, SAS has successfully ended a cabin crew strike that threatened to significantly impact its operations by reaching an agreement with its employees.

I hope that Koala will succeed! Australia desperately needs airline competition. I wish them well. If they ever fly.

Koala airlines will end up like Bonza and Rex. In fact, their business model sounds suspiciously similar of that failed bonza.

I hope that Koala Airlines will succeed.

Rex was a bad deal. Instead of the 737-800NG that are expensive. They should have looked at purchasing some Embraer E190’s like Alliance did and do regional routes like Sydney to Coffs and then on to Gold Coast, etc would have been more lucrative. This would have also eased up the issues with the Saabs.

Koala Airlines will fail. They are looking at 4 planes for their fleet and their niche is using AI to automate processes.

If bonza and rex collapsed... What market is koala gonna serve?

Maybe if these Australian airlines started to be a little more serious in their branding, they'd achieve more success.

Sorry Koala I don't fly max's.

Another dorky named it now and lose money on it a year or two when they too go under and your tickets are lost. Classic process.

Koala another failure, when will these fly by night airlines learn, people just don't want to fly on a 737 .

Anyone else think that the Koala Airlines livery is quite ugly?

taking bets on the over/under on how long Koala airline lasts.

"break the mold" is such a investor relations line, just because you say you are going to break the mold, disrupt the industry, or whatever buzz word you use, doesn't mean you are going to do it or even make. I'm sure Bonza was going to break the mold, disrupt Qantas/Virgin when it was pitched as well

I think koala airlines could work if they used smaller aircraft like the a220/190e2.

Once again, a new airline wanting to use mid sized jet aircraft…. Have they not learnt anything from Bonza and REX domestic!

Koala? Give me a break! Why not Platypus Airlines or EmuAir, maybe Melbair? Have they not learned the lesson of Bonza or Rex? Why a massive Boeing 737 instead of a far more efficient Airbus, better still a fleet of A220s (or equivalent) which I'm sure they will fill far better than a half full 737 Max on regional services. Yes we need more competition but you can't go for the $100 note straight up with barely 26 million in the country. Start at $20 & work your way up. BTW, if they use the Max jets, I ain't flyin' with them.

Koala airline should go with Airbus jets if they want even the slimmest chance to succussed. The Max 8 will cause them lots of trouble.

Koala has a chance to make it, but it seems that the Australian aviation market can't sustain anything but a small handful of airlines, which is unfortunate.

If they design a well thought out route map, they may have a chance, but it's a rather fickle market.

If the cabin of the KLM A321neo looks anything like that of Lufthansa, I'll advise you not to get too excited about it. Based on other descriptions, it's going to be a barebones cabin with USB ports. That's it. All the benefits of the aircraft will be to the airline, not the passenger.

Is this real? Koala Airlines? Can’t help but feel they should invest their cash elsewhere. We can hardly support the ones we have, or should I say Bearly support 😂😊😂😊

Between rex, bonza and koala, I'm starting to think that spinning up your own minor airline in Australia is just new a way of money laundering now that they've cracked down on casinos and real estate. :(

Can't those new airlines buy anything else but a Boeing 737 Death Max Jets ?
