These seem like great units but I would sure like to see them release 12/18kvp charge controllers as a stand alone that can communicate with the inverters. The 12kpv has all the AC power I need, but nowhere near enough MPPT capacity. Up where I live I need 4x the solar to make ends meet in the winter time.

So between the 18K and the 12K what unit gives the most bang for the buck? Doesn’t the 12K handle a higher load?

QUESTION; the AC Grid, let say i were to connect a grid power to this inverter just as a backup in the event that my solar not producing any power; will this AC grid charge the battery and power the loads at the same time?

Ok so i been asking around and nobody bothers to answer. Hopefully you will. From what I am seeing in this unit you are only required to wire L1 and L2 into the load breaker coming from the battery and you dont have to wire in any grid power or generator unless you want to. Am i correct on that and does the same thing apply to the 6000xp for those of us who are unable to afford the 12k.

Rodney how are you, question if I build the same setup and going off grid why a 100amp breaker on the sub panel if the 12kpv max output current is 33.3A? Is 100A too big? Can I go smaller like 60 or 50A? Thanks sorry for the question I'm in the learning process.

Is this capable of Islanding(i.e. in an outage can it turn on the solar panels and charge the battery)in an outage?
