Trout Opening 2024 (Stream Trout Fishing)

Trout season opened in Victoria this morning. The seasonal trout closure only applies in streams, and I just happen to prefer trout fishing in streams.
Here is the video of my 2024 trout opening fishing adventure, and what an adventure it was!

Nice work Robbie, I was in Wang for the weekend and headed up the ovens valley with some scrubbies. Beautiful day, great water; caught one big trout, that I released.

Im just amazed your fishing in 300mm of water and getting fish! Thats unheard of for me! I only just sussed out bait in freshwater! And it took me 7 months!

Hi Robbie great video mate i was fly fishing for trout on the cocks river near Bathurst some years ago and saw my first platypus it was really cool just sitting on the bank watching it go about its business for about 40 minutes in a big pool it made my day 🙂thanks for sharing your day again 👍👍👍

I love Strike Tiger lures. Good Aussie brand. Very effective. My favourite is the black and gold nymph pro. That’s a good lure for that dirty water mate.

Oh, the anticipation of the opening day. When weather works against us it is disheartening but we push on and make the best of it. A day of weather any other day is just that but it certainly stings mote on opening day.
