Hello! I have been in the tile business 40 years. It looks like you are putting very wet, un-sanded grout in a joint whose width requires sanded grout. It will work for a while, but it will eventually crack and start coming out. We never use that 'bottle' method (basically a grout bag) to grout joints unless the joints are at least 3/4" wide. We use quality grout floats on joints 1/16" to 3/4". We can grout & clean about 80-100 sq ft of 12"x12" tile per hour. That method would take all day, but would be fine for a small repair. I still think the grout should be forced into the joint by a grout float to insure the grout is pushed into gaps underneath the edges/corners of the tile.

👏👏👏 Been laying tile for years, it's videos like this circulating in the general public that keep me in business 😂 thank you.

I poured the whole grout bucket on the floor tile and added milk sticky additive. Waited for 20 minutes and scrapped the whole floor and it came up so good. In my case the tiles were an inch size so didn't feel like going through the hassle of pointing it to each and every millions of lines. Thanks for the tutorial.

I have done something similar, but we used caulking tubes to more forcefully inject the grout down into the joints.

Great method...that would only take 27 or 28 years to complete my kitchen floor like that.

There is an even EASIER way to do that.... which I did in our new bathrooms when we ran a baseboard using the floor tile, which went up the wall. I just got out one of my large disposable pastry piping bags, filled it with the mixed grout... twist tied the top, snipped off a tiny bit from the bottom of the bag and "piped" it into the gap just as I would with cake icing! Worked with a lot less mess than with the bottle shown as you can adjust the pressure. This would work with a gallon zip bag as well and snip the corner!

Neat idea. I tried something similar years ago, using a heavy duty piping bag and it worked out brilliantly😊

You can also add the add mix milk for mortar to make the grout super sticky then go over the whole floor. Have done it with little tiles in commercial bathrooms a bunch of times. Trying to get the old grout out just causes little chips everywhere. Had to learn this trick out of necessity.

Nice trick! Very helpful and I love new ideas like that. I've tried multiple methods just to make the process easier. My grout bag sucks can't stand it it's like brand new but it's heavy annoying and waste material. I have to grab a shower wall today with 1/6 grout joints. I think I may use a bottle method like yours but I'll use a tip that fits my Lucas motor oil additive. I never use them anyway I just take them off so I just need to wash it off good and poked a very small hole in it but thanks for the ideas! Many ways now to make this job a lot easier and less work.

The method looks very wise. Of course, I'm wondering if it also works well on vertical walls. Sweet video and a great idea, fosho.

I did a 4x8' mosaic (using broken ceramic tiles) concrete slab outside my casita door (I live in AZ, a casita is what we call little mother-in-law houses), and discovered the use of a grout bag that I bought at Home Depot. They're pretty cheap. It was still a little messy, but it still was better than trying to get the grout in all those grout spaces. I used the PRISM, which a company rep told me to use for spaces up to 1/2" and for outside here. Some grout spaces were a little wider and in those places I added 1/4 or 1/2" glass nuggets, like I use in my stained glass to fill in the space. Worked great, the mosaic'd slab looks great, and adds some class to an otherwise drab space.

I'd recommend some kind of vibration tool to make sure it's getting down in the cracks- other then that this is a great small to medium repair jobs ❤

No, the grout has to be compressed to work properly. That will get dirty quickly and will be hard to clean. Then you will have to do it again, properly

Nice. Use a paper funnel to put grout powder into bottle.

I remember in the old days we used a trash bag fill it up with grout cut the corner and squeeze it out but it's a lot better to just float it if you're doing the whole floor of course but for little repairs like that I guess it'll be good
